SUMMARY:Clintonville Books welcomes Arved Ashby
DESCRIPTION:Join Clintonville Books as they welcome Arved Ashby\, author of My 1980s Gayboy Playlist. \nIn this remarkably intimate book\, music writer Arved Ashby reflects on the pieces that shaped his sexual and musical awakenings as a troubled\, closeted gay adolescent in the rural Midwest. \nMy 1980s Gayboy Playlist is less memoir than autotheory\, written in a literary rather than scholarly style. Ashby reengages with eight musical touchpoints — some old musical flames that still smolder — while drawing on ideas from Roland Barthes\, Eve Sedgwick\, Leo Bersani\, Michael Warner\, and other queer theorists. \nFocusing on the decade of AIDS terror\, Reaganomics\, and the Moral Majority\, Ashby explores queer desire as it moved messily yet secretively across different avenues of expression\, tracing connections between erotic experience and musical fantasy. \nArved Ashby is Emeritus Professor of Musicology at The Ohio State University.

SUMMARY:MUNA: Gets So Hot Tour
DESCRIPTION:PromoWest Productions presents MUNA: Gets So Hot Tour. \nMUNA — the Los Angeles trio of Katie Gavin\, Naomi McPherson\, and Josette Maskin — has built a devoted following with emotionally charged\, irresistibly danceable pop that embraces queer joy\, vulnerability\, community\, and catharsis. \nFollowing the release of their 2026 album Dancing on the Wall\, MUNA is taking that energy on the road with the Gets So Hot Tour. The new album finds the band returning to the high-energy synth-pop at the heart of their sound while exploring both queer joy and queer rage — music made to be experienced together\, loudly and on the dance floor. \nA portion of the proceeds from MUNA’s Gets So Hot Tour will benefit The Ally Coalition and its work supporting LGBTQ+ youth and queer migrants across the United States. \nLearn more about MUNA at whereismuna.com.
