My name is Gabe and I’m beyond thrilled to join Stonewall Columbus as the Adventure Pride Facilitator. I am a Columbus native and lived in Boston for 10 years before returning to my home state to live my exuberant queer life here in the Midwest. I currently live in the Short North with my amazing daughter and my delightfully silly dog. \nI’m an engineer by day but love to get outside and experience the wholeness of the wild\, natural world. I love rock climbing\, mud races\, kayaking\, gardening\, painting\, and improv. My most recent adventure was a 130-mile solo kayaking trip that left from Columbus and followed the Scioto River until it merged into Ohio River. It was as fun as it was challenging\, and the time in nature empowered me to connect to my inner strength and beauty. \nI hope to use my role at Stonewall to do some of my favorite things: connecting with people\, honoring my body through movement\, and being out in nature. I’m so excited to meet you all as we go on outdoor adventures and explore some of the amazing space central Ohio has to offer. \n

If the minimum requirement is not met\, the class will be cancelled and class fees will be refunded. \nAbout the Class: Whether you are learning to dance for a special occasion or just want to have some fun on the dance floor\, come learn in an accepting and fun environment. Classes are open to everyone with or without a dance partner\, with all genders and gender pairings welcome. \nEach six-class session rotates between Block 1: Waltz\, Tango\, and Cha Cha & Block 2: Foxtrot\, Rumba\, and Swing. Beginner students will learn the basics of each dance and a few beginner steps. The more advance members of class will build on their prior knowledge of each dance with more advanced moves. \nInstructor: Jeff Grace\nJeff Grace has been dancing since the age of 8. He has been teaching ballroom dancing for over 40 years. Jeff has worked with all ages from pre-teen to adult\, including coaching a college and high school ballroom dance team. Jeff is the former owner of the Akron Dance Academy in Akron\, Ohio and has taught at various dance studios in including Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Akron and Grace’s Ballroom Studio in Paris\, Ohio. \n

DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a relaxing and inclusive yoga session. This event is a safe space for individuals of all identities and experience levels to come together and practice yoga in a welcoming environment. So grab your gear\, wear something comfy\, and get ready to stretch\, breathe\, and connect with your community! \nSTUDENT CHECK IN – can start up to 15 minutes before class. Instructors provide physical waivers or iPad. Water provided (courtesy of Stonewall)\, but participants are welcome to bring their own if desired. \nMATS & PROPS – provided for participants (courtesy of Central Outreach & Stonewall)\, but participants are welcome to bring their own if desired. \nCLASS TIME – 1 HR yoga practice + approx. 30 MIN mindfulness discussion/community engagement/socializing \nCLASS DESCRIPTION \nQueer Yoga is a mindfulness-based program offered to the LGBTQ+ community that promotes holistic health & wellness for Queer folx. \nSafe & supportive allies of Queer Yoga participants\, are also welcome to attend in solidarity with their family and/or friends. \nEach class offering is beginner-friendly. Instructors make the class accessible for 1st-timers\, and offer alternative poses for more advanced practitioners. \nThe program features a variety of styles and approaches\, but mainly integrates Restorative Yoga\, Hatha Yoga\, and/or Vinyasa Yoga coupled with meditation & breathwork. \nQueer Yoga upholds a platform of diversity & inclusion within the yoga teacher rotation\, to honor the fact that representation matters for students. DESCRIPTION:Stonewall Columbus is proud to partner with Visual AIDS for Day With(out) Art 2025 by presenting Meet Us Where We’re At\, a program of six videos that forefront the experiences of drug users and harm reduction practices as they intersect with the ongoing HIV crisis. \nMeet Us Where We’re At… will feature newly commissioned videos by Kenneth Idongesit Usoro (Nigeria)\, Hoàng Thái Anh (Vietnam)\, Gustavo Vinagre & Vinicius Couto (Brazil/Portugal)\, Camilo Tapia Flores (Chile/Brazil)\, Camila Flores-Fernández (Peru/Germany)\, and José Luis Cortés (Puerto Rico). \nCommissioned videos by artists in Puerto Rico\, Brazil\, Nigeria\, Germany\, and Vietnam journey across a range of spaces revealing the complexity of drug use. Several videos document the visible world of drugs—a harm reduction program in a Berlin park\, a night out during Rio’s Carnival—while others reveal private\, often hidden spaces where safety is found: bedrooms\, underground clinics\, and moments of connection between lovers. \nMeet Us Where We’re At speaks not only to the variety of physical locations where contemporary harm reduction is practiced\, but also to a broader shift: centering drug users as authors of their own experiences. Rooted in the philosophy of meeting people at their personal reality without judgment\, the program affirms the full context of drug use—its pleasures\, its risks\, and its role in how people survive\, care\, and connect. \nHarm reduction has long been central to the AIDS movement through practices like needle exchange and safe injection sites\, and people who use drugs have been affected by HIV since the earliest days of the epidemic. This program brings their perspectives to the forefront\, amplifying the voices of drug users as storytellers\, cultural producers\, and essential participants in the global response to HIV. \nAs this is a program centering harm reduction it will contain depictions of sexual activity and drug use. \nVisual AIDS is a New York-based non-profit that utilizes art to fight AIDS by provoking dialogue\, supporting HIV+ artists\, and preserving a legacy\, because AIDS is not over.
