DESCRIPTION:Adventure Pride – 2025 Dates\nWe’re excited to get Adventure Pride back up & moving in 2025! \nPlease complete the form below to share more about yourself and which activities you’re interested in joining.  The information you provide will only be shared with the program facilitator and staff at Stonewall – your contact information will only be used for the express purpose of this program\, unless you opt-into receiving our monthly newsletter. \nHere is some info about this year’s activities that may help you decide which are best for you:\n \n\nAll activities meet at 10am on Saturdays\nThe specific meet-up locations will be emailed to you the Friday before each outing\nWe will share details about each location\, to the best of our knowledge\, including ADA accessibility\, difficulty level\, and if pets are welcome (service animals are always welcome)\nThe facilitator will have a liability waiver for you to sign before the start of each outing\n\n\nOur new facilitator for 2025 is Gabrielle McDonald (she/her/hers) – learn a bit more about Gabrielle below:\nHello fellow queer adventurers! My name is Gabby and I’m beyond thrilled to join Stonewall Columbus as the Adventure Pride Facilitator. I am a Columbus native and lived in Boston for 10 years before returning to my home state to live my exuberant queer life here in the Midwest. I currently live in the Short North with my amazing daughter and my delightfully silly dog. \nI’m an engineer by day but love to get outside and experience the wholeness of the wild\, natural world. I love rock climbing\, mud races\, kayaking\, gardening\, painting\, and improv. My most recent adventure was a 130-mile solo kayaking trip that left from Columbus and followed the Scioto River until it merged into Ohio River. It was as fun as it was challenging\, and the time in nature empowered me to connect to my inner strength and beauty. \nI hope to use my role at Stonewall to do some of my favorite things: connecting with people\, honoring my body through movement\, and being out in nature. I’m so excited to meet you all as we go on outdoor adventures and explore some of the amazing space central Ohio has to offer.

This event is a safe space for individuals of all identities and experience levels to come together and practice yoga in a welcoming environment. So grab your gear\, wear something comfy\, and get ready to stretch\, breathe\, and connect with your community! \nSTUDENT CHECK IN – can start up to 15 minutes before class. Instructors provide physical waivers or iPad. Water provided (courtesy of Stonewall)\, but participants are welcome to bring their own if desired. \nMATS & PROPS – provided for participants (courtesy of Central Outreach & Stonewall)\, but participants are welcome to bring their own if desired. \nCLASS TIME – 1 HR yoga practice + approx. 30 MIN mindfulness discussion/community engagement/socializing \n  \nCLASS DESCRIPTION \nQueer Yoga is a mindfulness-based program offered to the LGBTQ+ community that promotes holistic health & wellness for Queer folx. \nSafe & supportive allies of Queer Yoga participants\, are also welcome to attend in solidarity with their family and/or friends. \nEach class offering is beginner-friendly. Instructors make the class accessible for 1st-timers\, and offer alternative poses for more advanced practitioners. \nThe program features a variety of styles and approaches\, but mainly integrates Restorative Yoga\, Hatha Yoga\, and/or Vinyasa Yoga coupled with meditation & breathwork. \nQueer Yoga upholds a platform of diversity & inclusion within the yoga teacher rotation\, to honor the fact that representation matters for students. Without them our food supply would be significantly reduced and ecosystems would suffer. This fascinating subject will be presented by Megan Hastings a master gardener from the OSU extension. SUMMARY:Queering the Message: Mitigating Political Violence Through Intentional and Strategic Communications
DESCRIPTION:Co-sponsored by LOVEboldly\, Stonewall Columbus\, and Over Zero\, this training centers LGBTQIA+ leaders and allies working in the LGBTQIA+ space for time to learn how we can structure our communications to mitigate and prevent violence while defending our community. \nThis workshop will cover: \nNarratives that are used to justify political and identity-based violence\, and how to counteract them \nHow LGBTQ+ scapegoating operates and is connected to democratic backsliding\, and what we can learn from counter-efforts worldwide \nMessaging guidance for preventing and responding to attacks against the LGBTQ+ community\, including how to inoculate against scapegoating \nIn addition to learning together\, we will take time to collaboratively strategize around and practice crafting relevant communications that embody best practices. \nAttendance is free\, and breakfast and lunch will be provided\, but advance registration is required at https://www.loveboldly.net/queering-the-message.
