My name is Gabe and I’m beyond thrilled to join Stonewall Columbus as the Adventure Pride Facilitator. I am a Columbus native and lived in Boston for 10 years before returning to my home state to live my exuberant queer life here in the Midwest. I currently live in the Short North with my amazing daughter and my delightfully silly dog. \nI’m an engineer by day but love to get outside and experience the wholeness of the wild\, natural world. I love rock climbing\, mud races\, kayaking\, gardening\, painting\, and improv. My most recent adventure was a 130-mile solo kayaking trip that left from Columbus and followed the Scioto River until it merged into Ohio River. It was as fun as it was challenging\, and the time in nature empowered me to connect to my inner strength and beauty. \nI hope to use my role at Stonewall to do some of my favorite things: connecting with people\, honoring my body through movement\, and being out in nature. I’m so excited to meet you all as we go on outdoor adventures and explore some of the amazing space central Ohio has to offer. \n

My name is Gabe and I’m beyond thrilled to join Stonewall Columbus as the Adventure Pride Facilitator. I am a Columbus native and lived in Boston for 10 years before returning to my home state to live my exuberant queer life here in the Midwest. I currently live in the Short North with my amazing daughter and my delightfully silly dog. \nI’m an engineer by day but love to get outside and experience the wholeness of the wild\, natural world. I love rock climbing\, mud races\, kayaking\, gardening\, painting\, and improv. My most recent adventure was a 130-mile solo kayaking trip that left from Columbus and followed the Scioto River until it merged into Ohio River. It was as fun as it was challenging\, and the time in nature empowered me to connect to my inner strength and beauty. \nI hope to use my role at Stonewall to do some of my favorite things: connecting with people\, honoring my body through movement\, and being out in nature. I’m so excited to meet you all as we go on outdoor adventures and explore some of the amazing space central Ohio has to offer. \n

DESCRIPTION:Mountaineers at Ohio State is hosting a moderated discussion with Cat Runner\, a professional rock climber\, photographer\, transgender community leader and winner of HBO’s The Climb (2023)\, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 9 in the Ohio Union Grand Meeting Rooms 1 and 2.\nRunner will share photographs and videos from climbs around the world and discuss identity\, belonging and accessibility in outdoor spaces. People can look forward to hearing about his experiences in bouldering\, sport climbing and outdoor climbing\, along with the challenges and lessons that shaped him as an athlete. \nIn 2022\, Runner founded the Queer Climber’s Network\, an organization and database focused on helping queer climbers connect with each other\, instructors\, educational programs and professionals within the climbing industry. \nRunner also serves on the Board of Directors for the Red River Gorge Climbers’ Coalition\, is part of the founding leadership for Trans Climbers Belong and works with other community organizers to implement programming that makes climbing more inclusive and accessible to affinity identities. \nThe discussion is free\, open to the public and does not require registration.
